Caravan Wheel looks like lettering painted on a wooden stall board after a few seasons on the road. The lines are clean and the stems are sturdy, but the edges keep small irregularities that give each word a handmade, slightly weathered feel.
The letters hold up at poster size, where those irregularities read as character. On shop fronts, packaging, labels and menu boards it gives a trade-route, heritage tone without leaning on costume ornament. In headlines and short editorial blurbs it stays plain enough to sit next to a quiet text face. Long paragraphs are not its job.
The font has 60 glyphs and covers German, including the umlauts. There is one regular weight, delivered as OTF, TTF, WOFF and WOFF2, so the same file works in print, on websites and in layout tools.

Caravan Wheel wirkt wie Schrift auf einem Holzbrett am Marktstand, das schon ein paar Saisons unterwegs war. Die Linien sind klar, die Striche kräftig, und an den Kanten bleiben kleine Unregelmäßigkeiten, die jedem Wort etwas Handgemachtes geben.
Groß gesetzt werden genau diese Unebenheiten zum Charakter. Auf Ladenschildern, Verpackungen, Etiketten und Speisetafeln trägt die Schrift einen Hauch von Handelsroute und Tradition, ohne verkleidet zu wirken. In Überschriften und kurzen redaktionellen Texten bleibt sie schlicht genug für eine ruhige Brotschrift an ihrer Seite. Für lange Fließtexte ist sie nicht gedacht.
