A soft bone-serif display font for playbills, marquees, Halloween posters, snack labels and theatre merch.
Stage Velvet comes from the old vaudeville house: red curtains, brass rails, a playbill printed the night before opening. The letters are wide and heavy, and every stroke ends in a rounded, bone-like knob instead of a sharp serif. It feels friendly and a little theatrical. Spooky, too, if you want it.
Look at the S or the 3 and you can see the slight wobble along the edges, the way ink spreads on letterpress paper. That softness is why it reads best large. Set it at 60 px and up for posters, marquee boards, show programs, ticket stubs, popcorn boxes and candy tins, and for Halloween events where you want costume-party fun and not gore. Under 30 px the knobs start to fill in, so give your small print to a clean sans.
The font covers basic Latin for English: uppercase A–Z, lowercase a–z, figures 0–9 and the core punctuation, including guillemets, curly quotes, dashes and the ellipsis. That makes 94 glyphs in one Regular weight. There are no currency signs and no @, # or & in the set. Files come as OTF, TTF, WOFF and WOFF2.
Desktop, Web, ePub and App licences are sold separately on this page.
