A tall, high-contrast display serif with curling spurs on its stems, for spice labels, menus and book covers
Spice Caravan is a narrow, high-contrast display serif dressed in Victorian ornament. Hairline strokes meet heavier stems, and small curls sprout from the middle of the verticals like vines climbing an old shop sign. The capitals go further. S, C and F end in swash curls, and most other capitals grow spurs on both sides of the stem, which gives a word the look of an apothecary label or a merchant's tin from a market stall.
Give it room. The detail lives in thin lines, so it works at headline size on packaging for spices, tea and coffee, on restaurant and café menus, wine labels, book covers and posters for markets or food festivals. In long paragraphs the curls start to crowd each other.
The font has 94 glyphs in one Regular weight: capitals, lowercase, numerals and punctuation for English text, delivered as OTF and TTF for desktop apps and WOFF and WOFF2 for the web. The punctuation set also has guillemets, square brackets and the inverted marks ¡ and ¿.
Desktop, Web, ePub and App licences are sold separately on this page.
