Delete my data
Last updated: 05.09.2026
You can ask us to delete your YoFont account and personal information at any time. This page explains how to do it, what we erase, what we keep, and why.
1. Delete your account yourself
You do not need to write to us. Open your profile settings, find the // Security block and press Delete my account.
- Confirm it is you — enter your password, or sign in with Google again if that is how you registered. We ask for this because otherwise anyone at your unlocked computer could delete your account.
- We email you a 6-digit code. Enter it on the page linked in that email.
- That is it. Your subscription is cancelled immediately and your personal data is scheduled for erasure.
If you cannot reach your account — you have lost the password and the email address both — write to us through the Support page and we will verify your identity another way. We cannot act on a request we are unable to verify, because doing so would let a stranger delete someone else's data.
2. You have 30 days to change your mind
Once you confirm the code, the account is frozen, not yet erased: you cannot sign in, the subscription is cancelled and the emails stop. For 30 days a restore link — we send it to you in the confirmation email — brings the account back, and the fonts come back with it.
After 30 days the erasure runs and cannot be undone. If you write to us instead of using the button, we respond within 45 days, or within 30 days if you are in the EU or the UK.
3. What we delete
On a verified request we permanently erase the following from our active systems:
- email address, name and username;
- password and any linked Google sign-in;
- author profile, bio and public author page;
- IP addresses and sign-in history;
- support correspondence;
- API keys and plugin connections (Figma, browser extension);
- any link between your identity and records in our system.
Your subscription is cancelled and you will not be charged again. After the 30-day restore window the account cannot be brought back.
4. What we keep, and why
Some records fall outside a deletion request. We explain them here so there are no surprises:
- Generated font files. Fonts created on YoFont are the intellectual property of Yo Space LLC, not of the user — see sections 4.1–4.3 of the License Terms. A font file is a set of vector outlines and metrics: it contains no information that identifies you, and so is not personal information under the CCPA or personal data under the GDPR. Deleting your account does not change who owns it.
What we do remove is the connection to you: the authorship metadata, your author page, and your username. The font is no longer associated with you or presented as your work. The de-identified file is retained, and we decide what happens to it from there — it may stay in or return to our public catalogue, be licensed or sold, or be withdrawn altogether. No revenue from it is owed to you, and we will not use your name to promote it. - Billing records. Payment amounts, dates and transaction identifiers, retained as required by tax and accounting law.
- Security logs. Retained for the period needed to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
These records are kept de-identified and are not used for profiling, marketing, or any decision concerning you. Full detail, including the statutory bases, is in section 5 of our Privacy Policy.
5. Your licence ends with your account
Your licence to use fonts generated on YoFont is valid only while your subscription is active — see section 7 of the License Terms. Deleting your account ends that licence, including for files you have already downloaded.
If you want to keep using a font after closing your account, contact us before you delete it and we will issue a perpetual licence under a separate agreement — no subscription and no account required. This is worth considering: once the 30 days pass, deletion is final, and the font is dealt with as company property, as described in section 4 above.
6. You may not need to delete anything
After the 30-day window, deletion is final. If your goal is narrower, these are reversible and take effect immediately:
- Stop being charged — cancel your subscription in your profile. Your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Hide your fonts — we can make them private, so they disappear from the catalogue, search and your public page while staying available to you.
- Stop the emails — unsubscribe from the newsletter and keep only essential service notifications.
7. If you disagree with our decision
If we decline part of your request, we will tell you which categories we retained and on what legal basis. You may then contact the California Privacy Protection Agency, the California Attorney General, or — in the EU and the UK — your national data protection authority.
We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.
