Devil horns and curling tails on the capitals, flames on the lowercase. For gig posters, Halloween and hot sauce labels.
Beacon Lantern puts a pair of small devil horns on every capital. The stems wobble like smoke, the bases spread into a rough slab, and the tails curl along the baseline, with the B ending in a pointed devil's tail. Loud on purpose. It reads like a poster for a late show in a basement club, a little theatrical and a little like old wood type, and that mood comes straight from the shapes rather than from any added texture.
The lowercase has its own character: smaller horns, licks of flame and the same smoky edges, so a word in caps and the same word in lowercase look like two different faces, as the FOC and foc card shows. Set it big. The sample cards use it for a 31 October gig poster in Barcelona, a mug, a tote reading "Small horns, big noise", stickers and hot sauce labels on a bottle, gift box and tin. The detail is fine, so it belongs in headlines, labels and short lines.
