Thin monoline print handwriting with German umlauts for notes, labels, stickers and picture books. No punctuation.

Lunchbox Note is the handwriting of a parent who has to write fast and still be read. Upright felt-tip print, one stroke weight, letters that sit a little unevenly on the line. Nothing is cursive. The a is single-storey, the g has a hooked tail, and the capitals are plain print caps, so a line set in it reads like something taped to a lunchbox rather than a signature.

The x-height is small, so the font needs size: it works above 48 px and looks right from 90 px up. Sticky notes, fridge reminders, jar and pantry labels, teacher stickers, gift tags, picture-book titles, quote posts for Instagram. Set a short line, break it where a comma would go, and it is done. Do not set paragraphs in it. For the small print, pair it with a mono or a plain sans.

Inside: 70 glyphs. Latin A to Z in upper and lower case, figures 0 to 9, and the German set ÄÖÜ äöü ß, which also covers English, Indonesian, Malay and Swahili. There is no punctuation at all, on purpose: the font breaks text into lines the way a handwritten note does. One weight, Regular. Files in OTF, TTF, WOFF and WOFF2.

Desktop, Web, ePub and App licences are sold separately on this page.
