WOFF2 editor — open a .woff2 and fix it in the browser

WOFF2 is what modern sites ship, and after a redesign it is often the only font file left. Open it here without unpacking anything, fix the glyphs, add the scripts your pages need, and export a fresh WOFF2 or a desktop TTF and OTF.

Frequently asked questions

How do I edit a WOFF2 file?

Drop it on this page. The editor decompresses it in place and shows every glyph. Pick the ones to change, regenerate or redraw them, then export.

Can I convert WOFF2 to TTF after editing?

Yes. The same project exports WOFF2, WOFF, TTF and OTF. Downloading the file needs the Pro plan or above.

My WOFF2 is a subset. Can I fill in the missing letters?

Yes. Sites often ship fonts cut down to Latin. Add the language you need, and the missing glyphs are drawn to match the ones in the file.

Does kerning survive editing?

Yes. Kerning and OpenType features of the original file are kept, and glyphs you redraw stay in those rules.

Can I edit a WOFF2 taken from another website?

Only if its licence allows it. Web fonts are usually licensed to one site. Edit fonts you made, fonts you bought with modification rights, or fonts under an open licence.

Which file formats do I get?

Every font exports as TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2, plus CDN-hosted @font-face URLs for web embedding.

How to edit a WOFF2 font

  1. Drop the .woff2 on the page. It opens as it is, with every glyph and the languages the file covers.
  2. Change single glyphs. Regenerate a letter, describe the change, draw it by hand, or attach a reference image.
  3. Add what the site is missing. New languages and weights are drawn in the style of the file.
  4. Export. WOFF2 for the site, TTF or OTF for design apps.

Why WOFF2 files are awkward to edit elsewhere

Most desktop editors expect TTF or OTF and make you decompress a WOFF2 with a command-line tool before you can open it. Nothing is lost in the process, but it is an extra step, and many people stop there.

Here the file opens as it is, and the same project exports WOFF2 again when you are done.

Putting the edited WOFF2 back on your site

Replace the old file on your server and clear the CDN cache. If you added a language, check the unicode-range rules in your CSS: a rule written for Latin only will hide the new glyphs.
