Dacks gestallte Froen
Wéi maachen ech aus menger Handschrëft eng Schrëft?
Schreift e puer Zeilen op Pabeier, fotograféiert se, luet d'Foto als Referenzbild am Generator erop, wielt Sproochen a Schnëtter a generéiert. An ongeféier enger Minutt kritt Dir eng installéierbar Schrëftfamill am Stil vun Ärer Handschrëft.
Kann meng Handschrëft-Schrëft Kyrillesch, Arabesch oder Chinesesch enthalen?
Jo — YoFont dehnt Äre Stil op all 9 ënnerstëtzte Schrëftsystemer aus, sou datt eng Schrëft op Basis vun Ärer laténgescher Handschrëft och Russesch, Arabesch, Hebräesch, Chinesesch, Japanesch oder Koreanesch schreiwe kann.
Wéi maachen ech gratis eng Schrëft aus menger Handschrëft?
Fotograféiert Är Schrëft, hänkt d'Foto hei un a generéiert — déi éischt Schrëft kascht näischt a verlaangt keng Kaart. Dir kritt richteg Schrëftdateien, kee Bild: installéiert se a schreift an all Programm an Ärer eegener Hand.
Wat genee soll ech fotograféieren?
E puer Zeilen op ongeliniertem Pabeier bei gläichméissegem Liicht duergi — d'Modell liest d'Form vun Äre Buschtawen, net den Text. Schreift d'Alphabet an zwee dräi ganz normal Sätz: doran weist sech, wéi Är Buschtawe verbonne ginn, a genee dat mécht d'Schrëft no Iech ausgesinn.
Wou kann ech meng Handschrëft-Schrëft benotzen — GoodNotes, Procreate, Canva, iPad?
Iwwerall, wou eng Schrëft funktionéiert. Dir kritt normal TTF- an OTF-Dateien, déi op Windows, macOS, iPad an Android installéieren an duerno a Word, Canva, Figma, Procreate, GoodNotes, Notability an Cricut Design Space wéi all aner Schrëft erschéngen. Näischt dovun ass un eis Säit gebonnen.
Ass dat en Handschrëft-zu-Text-Konverter?
Nee — dat wier OCR, an dat liest Är Notizen an dokumenteg Zeechen ëm. Hei geschitt de Contraire: d'Form vun Äre Buschtawe gëtt geholl an doraus eng Schrëft gebaut, sou datt duerno all Text, deen Dir schreift, ausgesäit, wéi wann Dir e mat der Hand geschriwwen hätt.
Wéi eng Dateiformater kréien ech?
All Schrëft gëtt als TTF, OTF, WOFF a WOFF2 exportéiert, dobäi CDN-gehost @font-face-URLen fir d'Web.

How to turn your handwriting into a font, step by step
Your handwriting is the one typeface nobody else has. Turning it into a font used to mean filling in a template grid, scanning it and cleaning up every letter by hand. It does not any more — a photograph of ordinary writing is enough, and the whole thing takes about a minute.
- Write normally, on plain paper. No template to print, no boxes to fill. Write the way you actually write — a few lines of ordinary sentences. Forced, carefully drawn letters produce a font that does not look like you, which defeats the point.
- Photograph it straight on. Hold the phone parallel to the paper in even daylight. Your own shadow across the page is the single most common thing that spoils the shot; step to the side of the window rather than in front of it.
- Choose languages and weights. This is where a handwriting font stops being a novelty. You wrote in one alphabet; the family can cover up to 60 languages across 10 writing systems, in your hand, including scripts you have never written.
- Fix the letters you disagree with, then install. You know your own handwriting better than any model does. If the k is wrong, redraw or regenerate that one glyph and leave the rest alone. Then download TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 and install them like any other font.
What to write on the page — no template needed
People look for a handwriting-to-font template because that is how the older tools worked: print a grid, write one letter per box, scan it back. That approach captures letters but loses the thing that makes handwriting recognisable — how the letters behave next to each other. Write ordinary text instead, and keep these in mind.
- Cover the whole alphabet, then keep writing. Run through the letters once, then write two or three normal sentences. The sentences are the valuable part: they show your natural spacing and rhythm, which no grid of isolated letters can.
- Use a pen that gives a clean, even line. A gel pen, fineliner or ballpoint on white unlined paper is ideal. Pencil is faint and grey, thick markers bleed and close up the small counters inside a, e and o. Blue ink works as well as black.
- Write bigger than you normally would. Roughly a centimetre tall for lowercase letters. Larger writing carries more detail in the photograph, and detail is exactly what gets extended to the letters you did not write.
- Give the digits and punctuation a line of their own. Most people forget them, and then wonder why the numbers in their font feel borrowed. One extra line with 0–9, a comma, a question mark and an ampersand costs you fifteen seconds.
- Do not correct yourself. Crossed-out words, a slightly slanted line, letters that vary a little between repetitions — all of that is fine and some of it is what makes the result convincing. A page written too neatly reads as a script font, not as yours.
Using your handwriting font in GoodNotes, Notability, Procreate, Canva and Cricut
The question behind most searches here is really “will it work in the app I actually use?”. It will, because what you get is not a web gimmick but standard TTF and OTF files — the same format every one of those apps already reads.
On a computer you double-click the file and confirm. On an iPad, install the font through a font-manager app or import it inside the app itself; GoodNotes and Notability then list it with the system fonts, and Procreate picks it up in its own font import. Canva takes uploaded fonts on its paid plans, and Cricut Design Space simply shows whatever is installed on the machine. After the download nothing needs a connection to this site: the files sit on your device and keep working offline.
Handwriting font or handwriting recognition — two different things
These get searched for in almost the same words, and they are opposites. Recognition — the thing GoodNotes and Apple Notes do — reads your written notes and turns them into typed characters, so your handwriting disappears and plain text remains. That is useful for searching your notes and useless for keeping your style.
A handwriting font goes the other way. It takes the shape of your letters and builds a typeface, so that afterwards anything you type — an email, a wedding invitation, a shop sign — comes out looking written by you, in letters and languages you never wrote by hand. If you wanted the first thing, your note-taking app already has it. If you wanted the second, that is this page.
When it does not quite look like you — and what to do
Handwriting is never identical twice; a font is. That gap is where the uncanny feeling comes from, and it usually shows up in one of three places. Letters that repeat look too regular — real writing varies. Joins between letters are too clean, or missing where you would normally connect. And the letters you never wrote, which had to be inferred, sit slightly outside your habits.
All three are fixable, and none of them requires starting over. Open the font in the Studio, find the letters that feel wrong and redraw or regenerate them individually — a handful of glyphs is usually the whole job. It is worth doing: the difference between “a script font” and “that is my writing” tends to come down to about five letters.
Working from something you did not write yourself — a logo, a poster, an old sign — is a different job with different rules: Eng Schrëft aus engem Bild maachen →
